Welcome to the VII Patient Experience Congress, which will take place on 27 November 2026 at the University of Deusto, Bilbao, under the theme “Patient experience as a driver of transformation.”
From the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God, the Patient Experience Institute (IEXP) and the Department of Health of the Basque Government–Osakidetza, we invite you to take part in a meeting designed as a space for reflection, shared learning and a driving force for change in our healthcare organisations.
Patient experience has become a strategic dimension of healthcare quality, humanisation, safety and the transformation of health services. Listening to, understanding and incorporating the voice of the people receiving care improves their experience of the care process, helps us make better decisions, guides innovation and contributes to building more humane, participatory and sustainable models.
Throughout the day, we will address key issues for the present and future of healthcare: the relationship between humanisation and safety, the use of artificial intelligence and PREMs to make decisions based on relevant data, transformation experiences driven by different organisations, and the role of people’s participation in health policies.
It will be an opportunity to bring together professionals, managers, patients, institutional representatives, third-sector organisations, academia and organisations committed to person-centred care. We want this congress to be a meeting point to share experiences, build alliances and continue moving towards healthcare that is closer, more valuable and more transformative.
